About Us

We are a Web consulting/development/hosting firm based in Charleston, South Carolina. Illumicom was founded by Mark Scarbrough in 2000. Previously, Mark had worked as the IS manager for Blackbaud, Charleston's largest software company. In addition to being responsible for many internal systems, Mark & his group developed their Intranet and external Web site.

In my previous work as an information Systems manager, my group & I were responsible for delivering dozens of projects, from half million dollar hardware installations to huge corporate web sites and Intranets. During that time, I searched out some of the 'best practices' in development, using what works and constantly improving areas that needed tuning. At Illumicom we have a recipe for Web development that always keeps the focus on the customer's needs.

Being a small company gives us a unique view on helping other small-medium businesses get on the Internet. We work with each client individually to insure that their Web/technology needs are being met. Although Web hosting is somewhat of a commodity, we offer the alternative of personalized service and attention.
